That’s not just being a jerk, that’s a felony.īut like I said, I get where he’s coming from, in a way. I’m not necessarily suggesting the creator of Gather Battle himself will steal the passwords (though who knows), I’m saying he’s bypassing federal security regulations put in place to protect the same people that would be playing is game, and that people could steal the data from HIM. In other words, what this guy is doing is genuinely, actually, legitimately illegal, and could lead to passwords being stolen or whatever else. The issue here isn’t that he’s trying to prevent cheating, it’s the fact he’s keeping what is very likely an insecure database of personal data, which probably breaks a few real world privacy and anti-trust laws. The only way to play the game again is to write an email to the developer and beg to be unbanned. If it thinks you might be trying to cheat (by opening Cheat Engine, googling certain keywords, etc), it makes the game impossible to play, and since you probably can’t remove its cheat-detection software on your own, you’re stuck with it. It burrows itself very deeply in to your system so that it is difficult to remove, too, and just trying to remove it will flag you as a cheater.
